OPEN HOUSE ANNOUNCES GREEN SKY STUDIOS, FREE EVENT IN LONDON
24 - 26 September 2008
Open House continues its campaign to support and promote excellence in sustainable design, with its latest
initiative Green Sky Studios. Running from Wednesday 24 to Friday 26 September, the high-profile, thought
-provoking yet informal initiative will provide a unique platform for London's up-and-coming and established
architects alike to showcase their commitment to sustainable design both to construction and design
professionals and design-conscious Londoners, including potential clients.
By hosting informal events in their own studios, architects will demonstrate how they are responding to
the challenges of climate change, taking forward the debate about how we can make our cities greener
with those who will be commissioning buildings, as well as with those living and working in the capital.
We believe that Green Sky Studios will generate exciting networking and business opportunities for
participating designers and visitors, while furthering the debate on green design.
Green Sky Studios forms part of Open House' s two-year campaign, OGreen Sky Thinking, which supports
and promotes sustainability as an integral part of design excellence. It builds on the success of the Green
Sky Thinking Pecha Kucha held on 16 July 2008 (sponsored by Atkins and hosted by Allen & Overy), which
highlighted to an invited audience of 150 from London councils, developers, agencies and government
bodies how architects in the UK are creating amazingly diverse and innovative solutions to tackle the real
threats of climate change. The event culminated in a lively Q&A chaired by Design for London Director,
Peter Bishop.

Victoria Thornton, Founding Director of Open House, said:
This programme will provide a great opportunity for those passionate about promoting good sustainable
design, to meet the designers, share ideas and gain valuable insights into the latest innovations, as well
as previews of unseen projects while still on the drawing board.
