LGS HOUSE – FOLDED HOUSE

A lonely person who works at home and doesn’t want the sun to cross into his house. The bad isolation
helped in this case. North and west round the house. There was the need of an inner perimeter patio, from
where space and some attractive views over the orange fields spill.

The basic concept of the project is the configuration and the definition of the emptiness. Is the creation of the
spaces with the strategic of surrounding it with walls, ceilings and roofs, treated like preference elements of
the same value, resulting a sincere and emotional homage to the master of the emptiness, Oteitza.

The spaces of the ground floor extend until the patio and the posterior party wall. The party wall is a cross
point in the solution: it belongs in the same time to the inner and the outer space, and is a fundamental part
of the generic concept. Only furniture divides the inner space into functional zones.

The concept of the upper level is the same: continuous spatial surroundings reflex, extend and are cut by
fold walls and furniture. In the inside, the far views are caught . The sun plays with the form and recreates
a universe of sensations, lights, shadows, and reflections of glass.

It´s amazing how exterior spaces are main spaces in this project . Sensations give us all that functions don´t .
