ABOUT CVDB ARQUITECTOS

The Architecture practice CVDB ARQUITECTOS was founded by Cristina Veríssimo and Diogo Burnay
in 1999. The studio is committed to develop a professional practice associated to architectural
research, understanding each project as an open and participated field to all involved in the design
process, exploring current design practices and building design methods that position architecture
as part of a larger physical and cultural landscape and considering the individual's experience
and perception of urban public spaces. Architecture can make a significant contribution to society
and has a deep routed cultural role in the construction of our cities and landscapes.

We try to celebrate with projects so many of the cultural, political, economic and social conditions
and contradictions with which we are working either with or against, but in a dialectical dialogue
at all times. We try to bring together all the creative, intellectual and critical energy in each project.
In each project, since its early conceptual incubation, we try to work close to our client goals,
concerns and budget management. The studio is also committed to pursue work from early conceptual
stages to design coordination, detail and construction documents and site supervision to ensure that
the intentions, goals and quality criteria.

The practice has had several national and international design awards, has been invited to lecture
in Portugal, Spain, France, Argentina and the USA. Their work has been published and exhibited in
