HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES TO DELIVER THE RIBA TRUST ANNUAL LECTURE
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is delighted to announce that HRH The Prince of Wales will deliver the 2009 RIBA Trust Annual Lecture on Tuesday 12 May 2009. This significant event takes place as part of the RIBA’s 175th Anniversary celebrations.
The RIBA Trust Annual Lecture is given by a non-architect on a subject of direct relevance to the built environment. Previous speakers include Jonathan Dimbleby, Sir Christopher Frayling, Alain de Botton and Lord Stern.
Speaking about the lecture, RIBA President Sunand Prasad said:
“The RIBA is delighted that HRH The Prince of Wales will be delivering the 2009 RIBA Trust Annual Lecture as part of the Institute’s 175th Anniversary programme of events. Both the Prince of Wales and the RIBA play a powerful role in raising national and international awareness about sustainability and the design of places and we hope this lecture will engage an even greater audience with these globally important issues.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Prince Charles to the Institute for a lively and stimulating address.”
A number of places at the lecture are available for RIBA members. To apply for a ticket, RIBA members should visit www.architecture.com/TheRIBA/175thAnniversary/AnnualLecture/RSVPMembers.aspx and complete the application form before 11 am on Friday 3rd April.
